ROW80 Round 4 - 3rd Update

IT'S FINISHED! IT'S FINISHED! IT'S FINISHED! After a semester of planning, writing and drawing like the caffeine-crazed lunatic I am, my illustrated children's book has finally been sent to the printers. Belvedere is the story of a dragon who is shunned by his own kind but still finds somewhere to belong in the end. You can preview it here at Blurb.com. Best part is, I now feel justified in having a Completed Works page, which makes me feel all writerly and stuff.

~EDIT: People have asked me about purchasing the book. It is available for purchase through the preview link above; just click the shopping trolley "Buy" icon under the bottom right of the preview (or click here) and you should be taken to a page where you can add it to your cart and then check out. At this stage it is available in soft cover and in hard cover, and I am hoping to make an eBook version available soon (. I hope people enjoy it :)

Anyway... I know I've been a bit scarce around these parts the last few weeks. I've been so busy with tutoring, usability assignments, prototype testing, thesis presentations and children's book illustration and layout that I've barely had time to do anything else, let alone blog about it lol I probably won't be around much for the next few weeks either; I still have an exam, assignment marking for two subjects and my thesis to finish writing, but after that's all done I should have more time to a) write and b) be more active on the ROW80 blogs. :D (I'm also working five days a week now. Like an adult or something. Bleh.)

Also, NaNoWriMo starts on Tuesday! WHOOO! (the same day as my exam. BOOOO!) I'm doing NaNo this year, even though I won't even get to touch my novel until mid November (damn thesis). If you want to add me, I'm RebeccaJFleming_DemonicDragon.

    I cannot wait until Belvedere is for sale! I'll be grabbing up a copy for my boys. Congratulations on having a finished work!

    I'll be adding you on NaNo! This is my first year jumping into that fray - so best of luck to you in hitting that 50K. You're brave - not being able to even start until mid-month. Great ambition!

    Love Judgemental Dog! I'm going to have to make a badge like that for my Zutchka. You always have the greatest things up of him.

    oh well done on getting book of to printers you must be pleased - where will you find time for nano, working everyday and all your college work Shakes head in awe!

    hehe Thanks guys! Belvedere is already available for sale through the preview link in this post (selling it is free so I thought I might as well set it up). Because it's only print on demand it's a bit pricey, though (something like $18 for softcover and $34 for hardcover), so I'm not expecting a lot of sales lol. I just hope it turns out well printed; I'm still waiting to get my hands on my hardcover copy that I have to submit for assessment.
    I'll try to add everyone on NaNo, it will be good to see ROW80ers around there :D I highly doubt I'll get anywhere near 50K, but the main thing is that I will have fun writing.

    Congratulations on Belvedere and all of your hard work!! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate so good luck with everything. I am attempting NaNo this year too, name over there is KatMorrisey. Oh and by the way, your dog is so cute!

    Oooh, congrats on the book, Rebecca! That's so exciting! And the book is adorable; I should get it for my nieces and nephews for the holidays!

    And best of luck on your NaNo! I've participated every year, but I've never come close to actually getting the 50,000 words. I've got a great feeling about this year, though, especially with all the support of other RoWers to help me along! I'll look forward to mid-November when you can start and when you've got less to worry about with your thesis.
